Zack Snyder directed commercials before his feature career in stylized action and comic-book adaptations. After a BFA from Art Center College of Design (1989), documented spots include Budweiser’s 2002 “Respect” 9/11 tribute, Jeep’s “Frisbee” (two Clio Awards and a Gold Lion), EB Beer’s “General’s Party” (Society of British Advertisers Award for Humor), an Acclaim Entertainment commercial for the NFL Quarterback Club video game, and two 2018 PSAs for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. He is rostered at Believe Media in the US. Feature credits include Dawn of the Dead (2004), 300 (2006), Watchmen (2009), Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole (2010), Sucker Punch (2011), Man of Steel (2013), Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), Zack Snyder’s Justice League (2021), Army of the Dead (2021), the Rebel Moon films (2023–2024), and the series Twilight of the Gods (2024). He co-founded The Stone Quarry with Deborah Snyder and Wesley Coller. Visual trademarks include slow-motion/speed-ramping, saturated color, dynamic compositions, and heavy VFX. Commercial directing evidence is largely early-career; recent output is feature- and streaming-focused.
