Wally Pfister is an Academy Award–winning cinematographer and commercial director whose four-decade career spans documentary news camera work, the upper echelons of Hollywood filmmaking, and high-end brand storytelling. After winning the Oscar for Best Cinematography on Christopher Nolan's *Inception* and earning three additional nominations for *Batman Begins*, *The Prestige*, and *The Dark Knight*, Pfister is recognized as one of modern cinema's foremost visual storytellers. He pioneered large-format filmmaking, becoming the first cinematographer to use 65mm IMAX cameras on a theatrical feature with *The Dark Knight*. As a commercial director, Pfister has created campaigns for Apple, Amazon, Nike, Microsoft, Ford, Under Armour, Taco Bell, and the US Marine Corps, merging narrative artistry with technical innovation. His House of Cards promo 'FU2016' won a Grand Prix at Cannes. Pfister's roots in documentary news cinematography—shooting Congressional hearings and White House events for PBS's *Frontline*—inform his grounded, cinematic aesthetic. He is currently working with RadicalMedia in the US.
