Tim Hamilton is a Toronto-based comedy director with Circle Productions in Canada, also operating as Tim Hamilton R Us Films. He has directed hundreds of international spots for Bud Light, AGF, Lexus, Verizon, Levi’s, Toyota, Dentyne, TD Insurance, RE/MAX, and PracticePanther. Documented recent campaigns include PracticePanther’s February 2024 “Lawyers Should Be Lawyering” for Grey/Cincinnati—a multi-double performance comedy starring Rick Hoffman—and Dentyne’s 2020 “Icy Cool in the Face of Adventure” films for Saatchi & Saatchi via Circle. Known for a dry, irreverent comic voice and an improv-led collaborative approach with actors, Hamilton wrote and directed the short Truth in Advertising, a 2001 Cannes Film Festival competition selection that led to an HBO pilot and Saatchi & Saatchi London sequel The Reel Truth for Cannes Lions. Other shorts include Shrink and The Catsitter (TIFF). His Warner Bros. feature Mama’s Boy starred Jon Heder, Diane Keaton, Jeff Daniels, Anna Faris, and Eli Wallach; he also directed a comedy series for Steve Martin and NBC with Wanda Sykes, Fred Willard, Steven Wright, Teri Garr, and Mary Lynn Rajskub. Reported honors include an Epica, a Cresta, and multiple ADDYs. Earlier U.S./U.K. representation included Hey Baby, Go, and ACNE; previously Avion Film Productions in Toronto.
