Sye Allen is a London-based commercial writer-director known for character-led comedy that balances silliness with sentimentality. Raised in rural Somerset on absurd British comedy and horror fiction, he worked up through editing in Soho, directed early music videos, and founded the in-house production company at St. Luke’s before directing full-time. His reel spans CPG, food and drink, betting, retail, and services, including Ariel spots starring Peter Crouch, Valspar’s 2024 “Shake It Up” for Dentsu Creative UK—his first KODE outing, built largely in-camera with a Panavision prototype image shaker, practical set vibration, flicker lighting, and physical gags—plus Bold, Vanish, Imperial Leather, Just Eat, Soreen, McCoy’s, Dreams, Dunelm, Decathlon, Betfair, NJ Lotto, Hey Pharmacist, Virgin Active, WestJet, Brita, Airwick, and Strongbow. Shorts underpin his storytelling: Beasts took Gold at Queen Palm and the International Human Rights Film Festival; The Empty Chair earned a Cannes Young Director Award nomination and a Kinsale Shark; Light Hearted (LBB, January 2026) is a satirical grief-tech fable led by Gillian Wright. He is working with KODE (UK, from September 2023), Identity (exclusive US, from July 2025), and Alfredo Films (Canada).
