Stacy Wall is a Los Angeles-based commercial director and managing partner at Imperial Woodpecker, the New York production company he launched in 2009. A UNC Hussman School alumnus (class of 1989), he worked as a copywriter at BBDO New York and Deutsch, then spent nine years at Wieden+Kennedy Portland as writer and creative director on Nike and ESPN before directing from around 2001. Athletic films include Nike’s LeBron James “Rise,” “Short A Guy,” and “Speed Unleashed” (Calvin Johnson with P Diddy); Jordan Brand’s Blake Griffin “Dr. Drain” and Air Jordan “Unbannable”; Adidas spots with Pogba and Derrick Rose; and ESPN’s “Born Into It.” Comedy work spans KFC’s Darrell Hammond Colonel package, Hotels.com’s Captain Obvious, Uber Eats (“Bring It” with Guz Khan; March Madness “Man of Delivery”), Pluto TV’s Super Bowl “Couch Potatoes,” and Michelob ULTRA’s Super Bowl 2025 “The ULTRA Hustle” (Willem Dafoe, Catherine O’Hara). Tech and telecom credits include Intel’s Super Bowl XLIV “Lunchroom,” Samsung, Microsoft, Google “Passwords,” Sprint, AT&T March Madness Legends, and Xfinity Usain Bolt spots. Automotive covers Lincoln MKZ, Ford Bronco, Lexus, Land Rover, and Honda. He directed Caesars Sportsbook’s Super Bowl LVI debut (Effie Silver 2023). He won a Directors Guild of America Commercials Award and was inducted into the North Carolina Advertising Hall of Fame in 2013. UK representation is with Rogue Films.
