Stacy Peralta is a skateboarder-turned-filmmaker and commercial director represented in the US by Chelsea Pictures. A founding Z-Boy, co-founder of Powell-Peralta, and architect of the Bones Brigade, he pioneered action-sports video before feature documentaries and advertising. Dogtown and Z-Boys won Best Director and the Audience Award at Sundance 2001; Riding Giants was the first documentary chosen to open the festival. He directed Bones Brigade: An Autobiography and Patagonia’s The Yin and Yang of Gerry Lopez, and received an Emmy as executive producer on ESPN’s Hawaiian: The Legend of Eddie Aikau (2013). Chelsea signed him in January 2018. Commercial credits include The North Face Anthem (Sid Lee), YETI films for Giant Spoon (Oliver White; Robin Van Gyn Soft Cooler), Hyundai Journey To Santa Cruz (Innocean), LinkedIn In It To Inspire Others, Blue Buffalo Stay Wild (Pereira O’Dell), Carhartt, and Patagonia. His brand work centers on action-sports, docu-style, and heartfelt athlete and real-people narratives for outdoor and lifestyle clients, with automotive and tech/employer-brand spots. Based on California’s Central Coast, he balances branded work with documentary projects under Chelsea.
