Show Yanagisawa is a Tokyo-born director working with PRETTYBIRD (US), RSA Films (UK/EU), DIVISION (France, Australia/NZ), and DATE OFFICE (Japan). A graduate of Tama Art University's Oil Painting Course (2005), where he studied under Takashi Murakami, Yanagisawa began as a painter and live graffiti artist, winning silver at GEISAI#3 (2004) and exhibiting at Louis Vuitton and Fendi receptions. He transitioned to directing in the late 2000s, bringing a hybrid collage aesthetic that blends VFX, stop-motion, practical sets, and in-camera innovations. His client roster includes Honda, Toyota, Lexus, Nike, adidas, Google, Sony, Uniqlo, Coca-Cola, Samsung, and McDonald's. Notable projects include Honda's rotating-set "Hands" campaign, Google Pixel's surreal product films, and music videos for Major Lazer and OK Go. His work has earned Lions at Cannes, D&AD Pencils, One Show recognition, and features in Stash, SHOTS, and LBB. Yanagisawa's painterly background informs his visually dense, abstract storytelling—often merging automotive, tech, and fashion narratives with experimental craft.
