Shaniqwa & Raj are a directing duo comprised of Shaniqwa Jarvis and Rajendra Debah, working with Arts & Sciences since September 2020. Jarvis, a Manhattan-born photographer and director who attended Parsons School of Design, is known for contemporary fashion aesthetics combined with emotional portraiture. She has executed large-scale portrait projects in London, Tokyo, Los Angeles, and New York, and published her first book in 2017. Debah is a New York-born filmmaker exploring Caribbean culture and first-generation West Indian identity. Together, they have created work for Nike, Adidas, Puma, The North Face, Supreme, Converse, Google Pixel, LVMH, Timberland, Twitch, and I am Other. Their project RITUALS, exploring family and Black life, exhibited at Miami Basel and Frieze LA. Jarvis's individual work includes campaigns for The New York Times, AWAY, Riposte, PacSun, Fear of God, and The Standard Hotels Group. Debah has created imagery for musicians Lee Fields, Pharaoh Sanders, and Barrington Levy, and directed the short film Ballers Eve. In 2017, Jarvis co-created Social Studies, an experiential retail pop-up in New York and Miami connecting youth to creators through curated programming.
