Savannah Setten is a British director known for psychologically-driven films created in collaboration with real communities and non-actors. Her breakthrough work, slenderbodies' "Arrival," was filmed entirely in a Ukrainian high-security prison with inmates serving long sentences and earned nominations for Best Video at SXSW Film Festival and the Young Director Award at Cannes Lions. Setten was also nominated for Best New Director by SHOTS in her first year of directing. Her practice spans music videos for Nas (collaborating with Magnum photographer Khalik Allah in Queensbridge), Baby Keem, and experimental work including "The Melodic Blue" short film for Amazon Studios, executive produced by pgLang. She has directed commercial campaigns for Converse (the pgLang collaboration "Lost for Language"), Nike, and a Fall-Winter 2025 campaign for Hermès. Her work extends to challenging environments including cartel-run barrios in Monterrey, Mexico, and indigenous communities in Russia's borderlands. Setten works closely with DP Christian Huck, colorist Steffan Perry at Framestore, and editor Ed Hanbury at Trim Editing. Based in London and working with Iconoclast in the US, France, and Germany, her work has been featured in British Vogue, iD, Nowness, Rolling Stone, and Complex.
