Bio & background

Santiago Carrasquilla is a Colombian-born director, designer, and founder of Art Camp, a multidisciplinary creative studio he established in 2016 in New York City. He studied design at the School of Visual Arts and worked for three years at Sagmeister & Walsh before launching his studio. Through Art Camp, Carrasquilla has directed campaigns for Nike, Jordan Brand, Hermès, Telfar, and MTV, combining live action, 3D animation, hand-drawn animation, and emerging technologies. His music video work includes projects for U2, Thom Yorke, Mitski, Bright Eyes, Indochine, Gabriel Garzon Montano, Kelsey Lu, and Boys Noize. His music video for Mitski's "A Pearl" featured over 3,000 hand-illustrated frames combining 3D animation with charcoal, pastel, ink, and colored pencils. His work has been recognized by D&AD, the Art Directors Club, and SXSW, and he received the Art Directors Club Young Guns award. He divides his time between New York City and Mexico City and is represented for commercial directing by Partizan in the US, UK, and France.
