Sammy Rawal is a Toronto-based director and digital artist whose commercial work fuses bold colour, choreography, fashion casting, and high-impact VFX. Brand campaigns include Converse (including Converse x Keith Haring), Reebok, Lululemon, Adidas, SoulCycle, Equinox, Twitter, Dove, Olay, Chanel, Hudson’s Bay, AXE, and Kraft Singles. Standouts include Equinox’s 2019 Pride film “Life’s A Ball,” a ballroom-centered piece Adweek called the most show-stopping Pride campaign of that year; Hudson’s Bay spring fashion film “A Dress For Every You”; Kraft Singles “Square It (feat. Kelis)” for Johannes Leonardo, a camp, movement-led spot starring Honey Balenciaga with cloning and telekinesis VFX; SoulCycle Pride 2021 mixed-media work; and Dan Levy’s See with Love eyewear social campaign. Craft signatures include multiplicity/cloning, pattern and rhythm, GIF/cinemograph thinking, digital collage, and beat-driven image-making rooted in fashion photography and ballroom. Parallel live-tour and broadcast visuals include Lizzo, Cardi B, and Elton John. Work has shown at the Art Gallery of Ontario, Musée d’Art Contemporain de Montréal, Nuit Blanche, and BFI Southbank. In 2022 he received the Prism Prize Special Achievement Award; MV work has been nominated at the UK Music Video Awards, Berlin Music Video Awards, and the Juno Awards.
