Ryan Booth is a Texas-based writer-director and former cinematographer whose commercial work uses a raw, documentary-inflected voice. After audio engineering, photography, and the multi-cam one-take performance series SerialBox, he moved into image-making following a Vimeo/Canon short-film contest win. He shot as DP on the SXSW 2013 dramatic competition feature This Is Where We Live, commercials, and a documentary on The Revenant commissioned by Alejandro G. Iñárritu before directing. Credits include Budweiser’s “Great Delivery” Clydesdale film for the brand’s 150th anniversary (with Larkin Seiple for Division7), adidas “Come On, Push,” NBA Finals and FOX Sports “Every Game is Everything,” Welch’s Grape Juice (tied to his AICP Best New Director nomination), Stella Artois, Ranch Water’s West Texas debut, McDonald’s lockdown “Lights On” (2020 remote direction of 16 DPs for Wieden+Kennedy/Pulse Films), Ford, and Apple Vision Pro’s “Beast/Man Vs. Beast,” which earned two AICP awards and a Cannes Lions shortlist. His feature STAGES premiered at SXSW 2026 and won the SXSW Best of Texas Award. He is on the division7 US roster after Pulse Films, with a Smuggler Europe listing, is a DGA member, and teaches natural-light craft on Skillshare.
