Rupert Sanders is a British director working with MJZ in the US and UK, known for large-scale cinematic commercials and feature films. A Central St Martins graphic design graduate, Sanders built his commercial career directing campaigns for Nike, Apple, Xbox, Adidas, Guinness, Absolut, and Activision. His work earned a Cannes Film Grand Prix in 2008 for the Halo 3 "Gravesite" spot and two Golden Lions in 2009 for Halo 3: ODST "The Life." Sanders transitioned to features with Snow White and the Huntsman (2012), which grossed $396 million worldwide, followed by Ghost in the Shell (2017) and The Crow (2024). He directed the pilot episode of Apple TV+'s Foundation in 2021. Recent commercial work includes Apple's "Tracked" iPhone 12 campaign and Renault's 2025 "The Muse" Clio spot via Publicis Conseil, described by Renault's CMO as evoking luxury-fashion aesthetics. Sanders emphasizes practical locations over green-screen and draws on his design background for visual storytelling.
