Rodrigo Inada is a Japanese-Brazilian director based in London who builds meticulously crafted worlds that reveal the surreal beneath ordinary moments. With a background spanning art direction, cinematography, and postproduction, he combines technical craft with socially conscious storytelling. Inada first gained recognition in 2020 with CIRCA 2020 and his Dazed collaboration with Arlo Parks for Converse. As part of directing duo Nono + Rodrigo, he won Gold at Cannes YDA for climate meditation Terra Cene and earned three Bronze Clios for the 12-minute WhatsApp documentary Naija Odyssey featuring NBA star Giannis Antetokounmpo (released on Amazon Prime). Now working solo and working with Partizan and Iconoclast, Inada has directed campaigns for Nike, Lufthansa, UPS, Ray Ban Meta, and Cruzcampo, alongside music videos for Jackson Wang, Jolin Tsai, Celeste, and Judeline. His Judeline video 'Mangata' won three Bronze Clios for Direction, Cinematography, and Music Video, plus Best Music Video 2024 from Rockdelux. Known for using shadows as active characters and marshaling epic production scale—including capturing a real sandstorm in Dubai for Jolin's 'Fish Love'—Inada works with longtime collaborators including cinematographer Pierre de Kerchove, editor Aaron Saiki, and colorist Daniel de Vue.
