Relta (Richard Pope) is a London-based director repped by The Corner Shop in the UK and US since March 2023. He moved into filmmaking from hip-hop production, building a reel of music videos, fashion films, documentaries, and the MVA-shortlisted short album film Don’t Look Down for Kojey Radical (Atlantic). Promo work includes Ray BLK’s Courage (July 2024), a one-take Steadicam performance between an intimate theatre and an abstract minimalist set; Sekou films for Island, including the Gold-winning Pinterest Predicts Love Language live session; Jessie Reyez ft. Lil Wayne’s Ridin’ (Young Director Awards shortlist); Royel Otis’s Say Something (Capitol); and Alfie Jukes’s Not Quite Gone, shot on 16mm. Brand work includes REISS’s AW24 campaign hero film and the Pinterest Predicts collaboration. Corner Shop EP Tess Mitchell described his style as full of cinematic references and succinct art direction. Craft hallmarks include analogue processes, static image-led frames, art direction and world-building, and a preference for work that feels surreal but grounded in reality. He collaborates with producer Anastasia Liasi and DP Billy Kendall, and has stated an ambition to bring that visual language into commercials.
