Pucho Mentasti is a veteran Argentine commercial director with over thirty years of experience, recognized as one of Latin America's most awarded storytellers. Beginning his career as an art director and creative director at J. Walter Thompson Buenos Aires in the 1980s, Mentasti transitioned to directing after helming his first commercial in Lisbon when a British director failed to appear. He founded the production company 2001 in 1993 and quickly established himself with narrative-driven work emphasizing authentic human emotion over spectacle. His collaboration with Agulla & Baccetti yielded the Renault Clio spot "Pacto," which won El Ojo De Iberoamerica's inaugural Best Director award in 2000, the same year he ranked third globally in the Gunn Report. Major campaigns include Coca-Cola Life's "Parenting," praised for its impeccable art direction and casting; Telecom Argentina's "Embarazo"; and ongoing work for Coca-Cola across Latin America and Turkey. After a stint in Los Angeles with Palomar Pictures in the early 2000s, Mentasti returned to Argentina and joined Fight Films as associate director in 2024, spanning their Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Spain, and Mexico operations. He remains concurrent on the Rebolución roster and co-founded the creative collective La Sagrada Familia in 2020. In 2016, the Círculo de Creativos Argentinos honored his three-decade career with a tribute at the Diente awards.
