Phillip Montgomery is a Los Angeles-based writer-director whose work bridges documentary realism and narrative craft. A 2013 SHOOT New Directors Showcase honoree, he won the Cannes New Director Award for Procter & Gamble's 'Raising an Olympian' Olympic documentary series and later earned Cannes Lions Silver, Bronze, and Jury Prize honors for the 60th Anniversary Grammy Awards immersive campaign. His commercial clients include Google, Jack Daniel's, Guinness, Uber, IBM, Walmart, General Electric, Kia, Deloitte, The Home Depot, Lexus, Adidas, and Buick. Educated at NYU Tisch (after initially studying opera at Drake University), Montgomery directed the feature documentary '#ReGENERATION' (narrated by Ryan Gosling), which won the SIFF Youth Jury Award and played theatrically in over 20 U.S. cities. His short 'Big Boy Pants,' starring Emmy-nominated Finn Wittrock, premiered as a Vimeo Staff Pick. Montgomery has expanded into television, directing episodes of History Channel's 'The Titans That Built America' and Paramount+'s 'Sitting Bull' (executive produced by Leonardo DiCaprio) and 'The West' (produced by Kevin Costner). He emphasizes real-people casting, socially conscious storytelling, and cinematic production value, working collaboratively to elevate every voice on set.
