A California native educated at Pasadena Art Center College of Design, Miller began his career as a still photographer, creating album covers and the iconic poster for The Shawshank Redemption before transitioning to motion via the legendary Eric B. & Rakim music video "Casualties of War" in 1992. His commercial work spans major brands including Nike, AT&T, Sony Playstation, BMW, Lexus, Mercedes, Mini Cooper, NASCAR, Pepsi, Miller Brewing, Taco Bell, VISA, and MasterClass. Miller won an Emmy in 2019 for "The Diehards" for the Boston Bruins, which also earned a Silver Clio Award; Forbes praised it for generating "instant relevance, attention and sizzling pass-around viralness." He received a Directors Guild of America nomination for Best Commercial Director in 1998 for a reel including Sony Playstation's "Scout," Nike's "The Great Magician," and Slice's "Dissection."
