Paul Gondry is a Paris-raised, US-based artist, animator, and film director working with Partizan worldwide. He attended the Lycée Français de New York and the Rhode Island School of Design, and is an active figure in Brooklyn’s contemporary art scene—exhibiting painting, sculpture, and drawing at MX Gallery and The Armory Show in New York, with a solo show at Deborah Schamoni Galerie in Munich. His film and music-video work is a form of world-building: decadent, mythic settings drawn from European fables, illuminated manuscripts, Dutch etchings, and RPG imagery, often compared to the ambitious visual vocabularies of Gilliam or Giger. On the Partizan roster his music content includes videos for La Femme (“Mycose”), The Willowz (“Take a Look Around”), and Daniel Lalita (“Atrás”). Having entered music video through Partizan, he continues to expand that fantastical visual language into film.
