Bio & background

Noam Murro is an Israeli-born commercial and film director and co-founder of Biscuit Filmworks. Born in Jerusalem in 1961, he studied design and architecture at Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design before moving to New York in the early 1990s. In 2000 he co-founded Biscuit Filmworks with Shawn Lacy; the Los Angeles- and London-based company remains his U.S. and U.K. roster home. He is a two-time Directors Guild of America winner for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Commercials. Ad Age named him one of the 50 most influential people of the prior 20 years, Campaign named him the U.K.’s #1 director, and Shots shortlisted him for Director of the Year in 2015. Landmark spots include Saturn “Sheet Metal,” adidas “Carry” from Impossible is Nothing – Basketball (One Show Gold Pencil, 2005), Guinness “Wheelchair Basketball,” Microsoft Halo Reach “Deliver Hope,” Audi Super Bowl “Doberhuahua,” Pepsi Super Bowl “Respect” with Elton John, and Mercedes-Benz “Say the Word.” Automotive reel credits include Volkswagen, Kia, Subaru, Chevrolet, SEAT, Peugeot, Audi and Land Rover, alongside Heineken, Got Milk?, Salesforce, Samsung, Bud Light, Starbucks, Pfizer and BetMGM. He directed Smart People (2008), 300: Rise of an Empire (2014), and the BBC/Netflix miniseries Watership Down. Craft hallmarks include protecting strong writing and treating music as a decisive late-stage element of the cut.
