Nick Harmsen is a self-taught Dutch commercial director based in Amsterdam and co-founder of boutique production company Since '88, established in 2012 with producer Daan Dagevos. He worked in television as an editor and cinematographer before directing. Brand work includes The North Face Pinnacle Project director’s cut “Dr. Cut” (Since '88, agency First Day of Spring), Johnnie Walker/Diageo’s Northern European “Walk with Johnnie”/“Keep on Walking” campaign with Whale Amsterdam, and Aegon’s Dutch “think ahead”/Vooruitdenken brand film for TBWA\NEBOKO—a life-story piece built around life-size frames and a sung spoken-word track. Further credits include got2b (TBWA), John West office-lunch spots, L Founders of Loyalty (TBWA, with choreography collaboration), NIX18, NOVO, and Corona Cero. In 2019 he joined the QUAD roster for luxury, sport, beauty and fashion storytelling and has been linked to US representation at Moxie Pictures. His films often sit in fashion-lifestyle, heartfelt, and music-driven registers, creating colourful worlds around products. No Cannes Lions, Clios, or D&AD awards are evidenced in available sources.
