Niall O'Brien is an Irish-born director and photographer working with Furlined in the US and Rubberduck in Ireland. After studying fine art photography at Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology, he spent over a decade in London developing a distinctive documentary-meets-commercial style. His personal work includes "Good Rats," a five-year documentation of South London punks, and "Three Cities," exploring Silicon Valley. Transitioning to commercial directing in 2013 at Academy Films, his first spot for Persil (AMV BBDO) established his naturalistic approach. He has since directed for Nike, Adidas, Levi's, Canon, and the 2024 Eir rebrand "For All" (TBWA Dublin), a three-day production with 42 talent celebrating modern Ireland. His music video work includes Foals' "What Went Down" and multiple projects for Talos, including the 2025 tribute "A Dawning" for Ólafur Arnalds. O'Brien's method emphasizes trust-building, rhythmic editing, and what he calls "the glory of living in the minutiae"—bringing authentic, human-centered storytelling to both commercial and personal projects.
