Molly Manning Walker is a London-based British filmmaker and BAFTA-nominated writer-director who entered commercials after a cinematography career and breakout feature. Her debut feature How to Have Sex (2023) won the Un Certain Regard prize at Cannes and the European Film Academy European Discovery award, with BAFTA nominations for Outstanding British Film and Outstanding Debut. She has completed the TV series Major Players (A24 for Channel 4), set up a second feature Not Another F*cking Wedding with Plan B and A24, and served as president of the Un Certain Regard jury at Cannes in 2025. Commercially, she signed to Rogue Films in the UK in early 2024 alongside her debut TV spot: Amazon’s pan-European UEFA Women’s Football brand film The Grit, framed as emotionally direct, authentic sports storytelling. That spot drew Best New Director shortlists at the 2024 Young Arrows and Shots Awards, Ciclope Silver for new talent, and British Arrows shortlist recognition. Her Rogue work also includes Rightmove’s Dive and CoppaFeel’s Changing the Face of Breast Cancer. Earlier she graduated NFTS cinematography (2019), was named a Screen International Star of Tomorrow (2021), and shot Scrapper (BIFA cinematography nomination) as DP—credits kept distinct from her directed commercial clients. US commercials are associated with Imperial Woodpecker.
