Misko Iho is a Finnish-American commercial director working with Wild Gift Content (US) and Rattling Stick (UK), recognized for seamlessly integrating visual effects, hybrid animation, and emotionally resonant storytelling. His career began in the early 1990s as a graphic artist with the demo group Future Crew and as a designer for Epic MegaGames. From 1997 to 2001, he worked as a VFX artist on commercials and music videos, including Darude's "Sandstorm" and Bomfunk MC's "Freestyler." Transitioning to directing in 2001, Misko won multiple awards for his Finnish music video work before expanding internationally. His 2010 short film The Patient earned Best Direction at Super Shorts International Film Festival. In 2015, he relocated to Los Angeles and began a prolific collaboration with Disney, directing campaigns for Playmation (with ILM and The Embassy VFX), Shanghai Disney's 10th Anniversary, and Mickey's Toontown (with Walt Disney Animation Studios, lead animator Eric Goldberg, and Oscar-nominated DP Bojan Bazelli). His 2018 Lidl campaign "The Cell" won both Director of the Year and the Grand Prix at the Finnish Commercial Film Awards. He has directed VFX-driven work for Flonase, Nintendo (with Goodby Silverstein & Partners), ZipRecruiter, Alton Towers, Interstate Batteries, and Consumer Reports, demonstrating expertise in CGI character integration and hybrid production workflows.
