Miles Jay is a Canadian writer-director based in Brooklyn whose cinematic, performance-driven work has earned a Primetime Emmy, Cannes Lions Entertainment Grand Prix, and three DGA nominations. Born in Vancouver to television director Michael Robison, Jay studied filmmaking at Ryerson University, where his short film *Blink* won Best Student Film at TIFF. His music video for Leon Bridges' "River" (2016), shot with DP Chayse Irvin, was nominated for a Grammy and won the SXSW Grand Jury Prize. His film for Jay-Z's "Smile" (2017) won the Cannes Entertainment Grand Prix and the Webby for Best Performance. Jay's Squarespace campaign starring John Malkovich won the 2017 Emmy for Outstanding Commercial and debuted during Super Bowl LI. Named SHOTS Director of the Year in 2016, Jay has directed campaigns for OpenAI (Ad Age's Campaign of the Year), Meta, Heineken, Volvo, Apple, Google, Samsung, Bose, AT&T, British Airways, Gatorade, and P&G. His Heineken spot featuring Daniel Craig was called "easily the best commercial of their eight-film, 23-year dance" by *Fast Company*. Jay is represented globally by SMUGGLER.
