Bio & background

Max Siedentopf is an Emmy Award-winning director and conceptual artist whose work bridges high fashion, commercial campaigns, and fine art installation. Born in Namibia in 1991, he served as the youngest partner at Amsterdam's KesselsKramer before establishing a six-year creative collaboration with Gucci under Alessandro Michele, directing campaigns including the '#ACCIDENTALINFLUENCER' Spring 2020 work (winner of the 2021 Impression Award) and developing the complete creative vision for Gucci Vault. His commercial directing spans Nike, Apple, Google, Hermès, Balenciaga, Jacquemus, Burberry, and TK Maxx's 2022 Christmas campaign via Wieden+Kennedy London. In parallel, Siedentopf maintains a rigorous fine art practice—his 'Toto Forever' solar-powered desert installation received international press from The Guardian and Rolling Stone, and Artnet cited it among '10 Extraordinary Artworks You Need to Travel to the Edge of the World to See.' He founded ORDINARY Magazine (Stack Awards nominee) and has exhibited at König Galerie Berlin, MOCA Los Angeles, and NRW-FORUM Düsseldorf. His choreography-driven directing style combines absurdist humor with surreal visuals, described by Vogue Italy as 'viral artist' work. Currently working with DIVISION (France/US) and Riff Raff Films (US/UK), he balances museum installations with campaigns for Swarovski, Miu Miu, and Gentle Monster.
