Bio & background

Matt Lenski is a New York-based commercial and film director working with Arts & Sciences (US, since 2015) and The Salmon (Canada, since 2026). He won an MTV Video Music Award for directing Fall Out Boy's "Sugar, We're Goin' Down" and earned a GLAAD Award for Pro-Social campaigns during his seven-year tenure at MTV's On Air Promos department. His commercial work includes Domino's "Home for Pizza" (recreating the Risky Business dance), EA Sports Madden 17 featuring Super Bowl MVP Von Miller in a Justin Bieber parody, Smirnoff's integrated campaign with Silicon Valley's Thomas Middleditch and T.J. Miller for 72andSunny, and campaigns for Destination Canada, Acrisure, ESPN, Sauza, H&R Block, Subway, Comcast, Consumer Cellular (Crispin Porter Bogusky), Chicken Farmers of Canada (No Fixed Address), Häagen-Dazs (Courage), and Coca-Cola Canada. His short film "Meaning of Robots" premiered at Sundance 2012, screened at MoMA and Lincoln Center's New Directors/New Films, and won Nashville Film Festival. He created the COVID-era PSA "I Happen to Like New York" for United Way NYC, featured on ShootOnline. Lenski's work is characterized by character-driven storytelling, bent humor, and what The Salmon describes as "fantastical while remaining grounded, funny, and oddly emotional."
