Marcus Svanberg is a Stockholm-based commercial director and founder of Bleck Film. A former musician who began with band documentaries for MTV Nordic, he moved into commercials that pair cinematic scale and precise cinematography with understated performances and subversive Scandinavian wit. Documented spots include Sandvik’s “Smash-proof Guitar” (Forsman & Bodenfors/Bleck), in which Yngwie Malmsteen tests an all-metal instrument, and Visit Sweden’s “Spellbound” horror-folklore campaign, which received a 2023 One Show Merit. Client work spans Nike, IKEA, Coca-Cola/Coke Zero, McDonald’s, Jaguar, Reebok, BlackBerry, EA Games, UNICEF, Nordea, Elgiganten, Eurojackpot, Apoteket (“Outbreak”), Triss, Synsam, Marqet, and Statoil. He has also directed narrative shorts including the dialogue-free Killing Small Animals (2020) and One Minute (2022). Roster materials cite Cannes Lions and Clio recognition (specific winning entries not detailed in sources); he served on the Cannes Lions 2021 Film Craft shortlist jury. After earlier U.S. representation at Furlined, he joined Moxie Pictures for U.S. and U.K. commercials and branded content in 2021 while remaining with Bleck in Sweden. Work emphasizes witty narrative comedy, tech/industrial demonstration, and performance-driven storytelling.
