Marcelo Burgos is an Argentinian director and multidisciplinary artist known for cinematic storytelling, meticulous VFX execution, and humor-driven commercials. He began his career at 18 as an illustrator at Ogilvy Buenos Aires, rising to Creative Director by 23 and earning over 70 awards at Cannes, Clio, ANDY, and the New York Festivals while working at Y&R Buenos Aires, BDDP Madrid, Vega Olmos Ponce, and Remo. Transitioning to directing around 2005 in Madrid, Burgos quickly gained recognition with a self-animated music video featured in SHOTS New Directors and has since directed award-winning spots for Coca-Cola ("Joan of Arc," "Napoleon" for Coke Light), Samsung ("The Sweet Spot," "Biker Gang"), PlayStation 3, Sony Cybershot ("Einstein," "Marilyn"), Renault, BMW, Audi, and Red Bull. His work has earned eight-plus Cannes Lions as a filmmaker, including Silver and Bronze Lions in 2008-2009. Recent projects include Borderlands 3's "Let's Make Some Mayhem" for 2K, Stouffer's "Walk," Cablevision Flow's "Spoilerland," Civilization VII, and the Tribeca-premiered short "The Mild Mild West" starring Vincent Cassel for OKX. A practicing sculptor and printmaker who maintains studios in Madrid and Buenos Aires, Burgos self-sketches storyboards and scouts with a 50mm anamorphic lens, blending fine-art craft with commercial precision.
