Lucy Knox is a Sydney-based writer-director working across commercials, documentary, narrative shorts and branded content. She is working with Scoundrel in Australia/New Zealand, with award-winning work produced through upperfast for US/EU pathways. Commercial clients include Nike Global, NRMA, Mastercard, ASB, The All Blacks, Commbank, Steggles, Hector's Deli, E Nolan, Animal Welfare and Australians for Mental Health. In July 2026 she wrote and directed Hector's Deli's Better In Real Life, a social-media satire covered by LBB and Shots for observational restraint, natural performances and warm human comedy rather than broad sketch energy. Her documentary Opal Fever, produced by Alexandra Galloway through upperfast, won Gold in the Documentary category at the Young Director Award 2026 in Cannes. Eighteen, a Trust/Scoundrel portrait of high-school graduates filmed over an Australian summer, was covered by Directors Notes and Directors Library in 2025. She was a Ciclope Asia Finalist in 2026 and selected for Saatchi & Saatchi's New Creators' Showcase. Shorts including Hot Mother (2020) and An Act of Love (2018) screened at Berlinale, Sydney, Melbourne, Palm Springs and MoMA New York, with work Vimeo Staff Picked and acquired into the Criterion Collection. Scoundrel describes her work as photographic—conveying unique tone through a single frame—and notes memorable performances in heightened, stylised worlds.
