Bio & background

Lucy Forbes is a London-based BAFTA-winning director represented worldwide by SMUGGLER. She won three BAFTA Cymru awards including Best Fiction Director for BBC's "In My Skin," then served as lead director on Channel 4/Netflix's "The End of the F***ing World" Season 2, which won the BAFTA for Best Drama Series. She earned the RTS Award for Best Drama Director for "This Is Going to Hurt" starring Ben Whishaw for BBC and AMC. Most recently she directed and executive produced all six episodes of Netflix Top 10 hit "Eric," a 1980s New York thriller starring Benedict Cumberbatch. She is currently directing HBO's "Harry Potter" series. In advertising, her Libresse/Bodyform "Never Just a Period" campaign via AMV BBDO swept international awards including a Cannes Lions Film Gold Lion, top honors at British Arrows, D&AD, AICP, and CICLOPE, plus the Frank Budgen Director of the Year award. Her Waitrose "Sweet Suspicion" Christmas campaign via Saatchi & Saatchi London featured Matthew Macfadyen, Sian Clifford, and Joe Wilkinson in a cinematic whodunnit that earned 150 million views and multiple British Arrows Golds. Campaign Magazine named her Director of the Year. Forbes works extensively with DP Benedict Spence and brings rigorous preparation, distinctive comedic sensibility, and bold visual style to both longform drama and commercial storytelling.
