Kirsten Lepore is an LA-based director of stop-motion, clay, paper, and hybrid animation for commercials and short-form entertainment. She holds an MFA from CalArts and is working with Prettybird. Her brand reel includes Apple’s Mac Mini introduction, Silk’s “Oat Yeah” oat-milk heist, Belvedere Vodka with Janelle Monáe, MINI’s paper-craft Countryman film, Skippy’s Stunt Nut comedy, Finch’s “Whatever It Takes” self-care spot, Planned Parenthood’s 100 Years film, Google Doodles, Motorola Moto X, MTV idents, and earlier Heinz Poppers work. Craft signatures are handmade puppet performance, food and product tabletop stop-motion, and comedy or heartfelt character tone. She wrote and directed Marvel Studios’ I Am Groot for Disney+ (Emmy, Outstanding Short Form Program, Children & Family Emmys) and was Animation Director on A24’s Marcel the Shell with Shoes On (multiple Annie Awards; Academy Award, Golden Globe, and BAFTA nominations). Her Adventure Time episode “Bad Jubies” won an Annie for children’s animated television production. Festival short Bottle took a Student Annie, SXSW Special Jury Award, and Slamdance Sparky; Variety named her one of 10 Animators to Watch in 2017.
