Kim O. Nguyen is a Los Angeles-based comedy director working across commercials, episodic television, and features. Born in Vietnam and raised in Chicago, she began as a writer at The Onion and writer/director for MTV, with writing stints at BBH, Strawberry Frog, Taxi, McKinney Silver, and Nickelodeon before shifting into directing. Represented for commercials by Bob Industries, her comedy and performance-led spots include work for T-Mobile, Chrysler, Farmers Insurance, Constant Contact, New York Life with Demetri Martin, Crate & Barrel, Walmart, U.S. Bank, Holiday Inn Express, MTV, Tempur-Pedic, Google Android Play, Chase, and Kohl's with Vanessa Bayer, plus earlier campaigns for Captain Morgan, Gold's Gym, 47 Brand, and ESPN. Campaigns have featured Taylor Swift, Rashida Jones, Tracee Ellis Ross, John Cena, Reese Witherspoon, Demetri Martin, and Vanessa Bayer. Her feature Prom Dates, released on Hulu in May 2024, drew 40 million views in its first week as the platform's #1 film and received a Writers Guild of America Award nomination.
