Kim Geldenhuys is a Cape Town–based commercial director and founder of 0307 Films (launched 2014; previously Egg Films, 1998). He began as a fashion photographer—subjects included Bryan Ferry—before moving into music videos and commercials. His direction earned Cannes Gold on Topsy’s “Selinah” (also South Africa’s first Grand LIA), plus an early Silver Lion and Cannes finalists, with recognition at Clios, LIAs, Ciclope, D&AD, The One Show, and Loeries. IDIDTHAT craft juries have given Best in Craft or Mentions on spots for Telekom, Allan Gray, Prudential, Carling Black Label, Metropolitan, Glo, Liberty, Hyundai Genesis, McDonald’s Austria, KFC, and Pick n Pay. The commercial body spans heartfelt performance films (Telekom “Cyber Mobbing,” Allan Gray “The Letter,” Metropolitan “After Tears,” Philips/#ShaveToRemember, McDonald’s Austria “Sorry Mom”), comedy (Nando’s “Blue Light Brigade,” KFC “Beyond the Sea”), and automotive work (BMW Landspeed/M5, Hyundai Genesis, VW, Isuzu, Toyota). Financial-services films for Nedbank, Prudential, Standard Bank, Sanlam, Santam, and Liberty sit beside retail and QSR (Pick n Pay, KFC, McDonald’s, Nando’s). He directed the 2022 short The Little Match Girl and produces through 0307.
