Joseph Kosinski is a feature film and commercial director whose five theatrical releases have grossed $2.8 billion worldwide and earned eleven Academy Award nominations, including two for Best Picture. He directed Top Gun: Maverick (2022), which grossed $1.5 billion worldwide, won the Oscar for Best Sound, and earned him a DGA nomination for Best Director. His latest film F1 (2025), starring Brad Pitt, grossed over $630 million to become the highest-grossing sports film of all time, winning the Academy Award for Best Sound. Kosinski's commercial work spans premium brands including Nike, Chanel, BMW, and AAA video game franchises such as Halo, Gears of War, Assassin's Creed, Destiny, and Doom. His 2006 "Mad World" spot for Gears of War earned an AICP Award nomination for Best Visual Effects. With a mechanical engineering degree from Stanford and a Master's in Architecture from Columbia, Kosinski brings technical rigor and world-building expertise to projects characterized by practical filmmaking techniques, IMAX formatting, and integration of thrilling action with nuanced character development. He is currently working with RESET in the United States.
