Bio & background

Jessica Lee Gagné is a Montreal-born Emmy Award-winning cinematographer and director whose work spans prestige television, independent film, and commercials. She lensed all of Apple TV+'s "Severance" Season 1 and six episodes of Season 2, crafting the show's signature 1970s-inflected dystopian aesthetic using Panavision C Series vintage lenses. Previously, she served as DP on Ben Stiller's "Escape at Dannemora" for Showtime, FX's "Mrs. America", and Netflix's "All Day and a Night". Her cinematography credits include features screened at Cannes ("Despite the Night") and neo-noir indie "Sweet Virginia". In Season 2 of "Severance", Gagné was elevated to producer and made her directorial debut on Episode 7, executing a hallway escape oner with motion-activated lighting and shooting a sun-drenched flashback montage on Bolex film stock. Her commercial directing work includes Instacart's 2025 NFL "Sunday Scaries" campaign, produced by RESET and featuring Legacy Effects creatures. Gagné's visual approach draws from photographers Lars Tunbjörk, Lewis Baltz, and Lynne Cohen, balancing clinical surveillance aesthetics with uncanny warmth. She signed with Sugar23 and CAA in April 2025, positioning for expanded directing opportunities while maintaining her cinematography practice through UTA representation.
