Jazmin Garcia is a Mexican-Guatemalan-American director and photographer based in Los Angeles, working with Somesuch in the US and UK. She won the Short Film Jury Award for U.S. Fiction at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival for "Trokas Duras," which examines LA workers' trucks and the Latino immigrant community. Her commercial work includes WhatsApp's "Wisdom on Channels" campaign exploring culture and immigration, Nike's "Dalia Hurtado," Netflix's "Brown Love," and portions of Zalando's "We Will Hug Again" (D&AD Brown Pencil). Garcia began her career creating short documentaries for Mitú, then broke through with the Cuco "Hydrocodone" music video, which screened at Sundance. She has directed music videos for Akua and San Cha, and created branded content for Interflora, Beyond Type 1, Red Bull Music, and Tokala's BIPOC climate activist series. Her debut photobook "Flor de Jamaica" was published through Somesuch Editions. Garcia studied History of Art and Visual Culture at UC Santa Cruz and hosts a monthly NTS Radio show, "Como La Flor," curating mid-century Latin American music. She is currently developing her debut narrative feature.
