Jake Erland is a London-based director and cinematographer whose work spans music video, commercial, and fashion film with a signature visual style rooted in 80s-90s cinema and 90s-2000s fashion photography. Starting out shooting skate videos at age 17, Erland developed his craft through a prolific long-term collaboration with London streetwear brand Palace, establishing the photographic framing and dynamic camera movement that would become his calling card. In music video, Erland has established himself through creative partnerships with influential British artists. He recently directed the full visual campaign around Olivia Dean's album The Art of Loving, helping her secure the Grammy Award for Best New Artist. This campaign included music videos for the viral hit "Man I Need" and "Nice to Each Other," the latter earning Erland a UK Music Video Award. He has been a frequent collaborator with Beabadoobee, directing videos ranging from the intimate, film-shot documentary approach of "Glue Song" to the Hollywood-musical-inspired "Take A Bite" and the single-take "The Way Things Go." His 2026 video for Beabadoobee's "Sun Has Set"—which he also shot as DP—employed a frantic POV perspective to visualize relationship turmoil through action-packed, horror-tinged vignettes. Other music video work includes "A Night To Remember" for Beabadoobee and Laufey, featuring dancers in a nighttime London setting with spotlit cinematography and high-contrast grade; Rachel Chinouriri's breakout video "Never Need Me" starring Florence Pugh; and "Window" for Foo Fighters. In commercial work, Erland has directed campaigns for McDonald's, Adidas, Burberry, Dior, Tommy Hilfiger, Louis Vuitton, Samsung, Salomon, Vans, Zara, Palace, Chelsea FC, and Man City FC. His Chelsea FC spot "London It's Our House" won him a Silver Clio. As both director and cinematographer on many projects, Erland maintains complete control over the visual language. He signed with Park Pictures London in 2024, and in July 2026, Park Pictures extended their relationship by adding him to their U.S. roster, marking his first American representation.
