Henry Hobson is a British director known for epic, character-driven commercials and title design. He began at London's Why Not Associates, transitioning from graphic design to directing through motion work and live-action pitches. His 2011 Resistance 3 spot—a live-action ripamatic set to Johnny Cash—became his breakthrough. He has since directed high-profile campaigns for Ford (Mustang Mach-E with Idris Elba), Audi (Night Watchman shot in Mexico City during the 2018 World Cup), PlayStation, Halo 5: Guardians, Diablo 4 (Halsey/SUGA collaboration), U.S. Marine Corps, Pepsi (starring William H. Macy), and Discovery/Eurosport Olympics coverage. Hobson designed graphics for the Oscars (2009, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015) and title sequences for Snow White and the Huntsman, The Last of Us, Killzone, and The Help. His feature debut Maggie (2015) starred Arnold Schwarzenegger and Abigail Breslin, premiering at Toronto, Tribeca, and Berlin. Awards include Cannes Lions, D&AD Pencils, AICP honors, One Show accolades, and a Shots Director of the Year nomination. He is working with MJZ (US/UK) and Finch (Australia).
