Bio & background

Harmony Korine emerged as a singular voice in independent cinema with the screenplay for Larry Clark's Kids (1995), written at 19, before making his directorial debut with Gummo (1997), which won top prizes at Venice Film Festival and earned praise from Werner Herzog. His subsequent features include the first American Dogme 95-certified film Julien Donkey-Boy (1999), the commercially successful Spring Breakers (2012) starring James Franco and Selena Gomez that competed for the Golden Lion at Venice, and The Beach Bum (2019) with Matthew McConaughey. Since 2008, Korine has been working with MJZ for commercial work, directing campaigns for Gucci (including 2019-2020 men's tailoring featuring A$AP Rocky, Iggy Pop, and Tyler The Creator), Dior Addict Fragrance, Calvin Klein CK One, Under Armour's Curry 3, Velveeta, Liberty Mutual, Thorntons, Supreme, and a viral 2021 7-Eleven spot. His music video credits include Rihanna's "Needed Me" (2016) and The Black Keys' "Gold on the Ceiling" (2012). Korine has exhibited extensively at Gagosian galleries with 12 exhibitions since 2014 and founded EDGLRD, a Miami-based creative and technology company focused on generative AI-driven filmmaking, producing Aggro Dr1ft (2023) which premiered at the 80th Venice Film Festival.
