Hannah Pearl Utt is a filmmaker, writer, and actor known for character-driven comedy that blends heartfelt storytelling with sharp wit. She co-created, co-wrote, directed, and starred in the web series *Disengaged* (2015–2016) for SuperDeluxe, which explored LGBTQ+ narratives. Her feature directorial debut, *Before You Know It* (2019), premiered in competition at Sundance Film Festival, was theatrically released by 1091 Pictures and later streamed on Showtime, earning nominations at Cleveland International, Dallas International, Frameline San Francisco LGBTQ, and Queerty Awards. Her second feature, *Cora Bora* (2023), starring Megan Stalter, premiered at SXSW and will be released on Netflix in 2025. Utt participated in Sundance's inaugural Catalyst Women Filmmakers Initiative, the Sundance Screenwriters and Directors Labs (2017), received an Adrienne Shelly Foundation Women Filmmakers Grant (2018), and was selected as a 2020 Sundance FilmTwo Fellow. IndieWire named her one of "25 Female Filmmakers to Watch" in 2019. Drawing on her background as an actor, she directs performers to deliver layered, authentic portrayals of complex characters. In commercials, she directed the "Club Riffs" campaign for Club Crackers (Leo Burnett) via Epoch Films (2024). She joined Arts & Sciences in December 2024.
