Gregory Ohrel is a Paris-based commercial and music video director working with FRIEND in the UK and Doomsday Entertainment in the US. His career launched after a viral unofficial music video for Kanye West and Jay-Z's "Ni**as in Paris" led to professional commissions from French rapper Booba. Ohrel has since directed music videos for Residente, Bad Bunny, Juanes, Selena Gomez, Jain, and Editors, earning a Grammy Award, Victoires de la Musique Music Video of the Year, and Latin Grammy Music Video of the Year. His 2022 video "This is Not America" for Residente featuring Ibeyi won the Cannes Lions Grand Prix in Entertainment. In advertising, he has directed campaigns for Citroën, Google Pixel, GoDaddy, Converse, Home Depot, Peroni, and Aperol. His 2023 Penny campaign "The Kids," produced by Akkurat Studios for Serviceplan Germany, won Ad of the Year at the 2024 Golden Award of Montreux. Most recently, Ohrel directed the pre-tape for Bad Bunny's Super Bowl LX halftime show in 2026 and served as cinematography consultant for the creative direction team. Known for innovative camera techniques, double-exposures, seamless transitions, and in-camera effects, Ohrel brings experimental live-action storytelling to socially conscious narratives.
