Gabriel Novis is a Brazilian-American director working with Los York (USA), FRIEND (UK), Mymama Films (Brazil), Left (Paris), Bro (Portugal), and Freshman (Canada). Born in Los Angeles and raised in northeast Brazil, he holds a degree in Advertising from Brazil and specialized in Cinematography at UCLA and Film Direction at the New York Film Academy. Named one of the top three surf film directors by Surfer magazine, Novis has directed campaigns for Nike, Adidas, Oakley, NFL, Louis Vuitton, Zara, Corona, Coca-Cola, Disney, and Samsung. His 2021 Oakley film "Be Who You Are" featuring Olympic gold medalist Ítalo Ferreira earned a Bronze Clio Sports Award, Vimeo Staff Pick, and finalist honors at Ciclope and the 1.4 Awards. In 2024, he directed the NFL's first-ever South American game launch featuring an unreleased track by The Weeknd. His Rolling Stones x Speaqua campaign, shot on Super 16mm film in New York, earned 1.4 Awards recognition. Novis's 2025 documentary "Alice" about trans surfer Alice Barbosa won Best International Short at London Surf/Film Festival. His work spans fashion (Vogue Italia cover with Isabella Rossellini, Good American with Kris Jenner and Khloé Kardashian), automotive (Harley Davidson's 120th Anniversary), and social impact storytelling.
