Frederick Paxton is an Emmy-nominated filmmaker, photographer, and artist working with Academy Films in the UK and USA. A graduate with honours from New York's School of Visual Arts, Paxton has directed campaigns for EDF, Orsted, AB InBev, Google DeepMind, Stone Island, and Relate. His photography for Pot Noodle via adam&eveDDB earned two Cannes Lions and two Campaign BIG awards. In documentary, his film 'Behind The Zero Line' about a Ukrainian community caught between separatist and government forces received a 2017 Grierson Award nomination. He also directed 'Harmony,' examining identity in modern Russia, and 'Chunky Shrapnel,' a King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard tour documentary. As a conflict photographer, Paxton has worked extensively in Iraq, Syria, Ukraine, Central African Republic, Aleppo, North Korea, and Russia, capturing intimate portraits in front-line and rarely accessed contexts. His work spans tongue-in-cheek observational humor and intimate human-centered storytelling, unified by fine art training and journalistic rigor.
