Floyd Russ is a two-time Emmy Award-winning director whose work spans commercials, documentaries, and narrative features. He began his career as an in-house producer and director at Saatchi & Saatchi New York and Grey New York before transitioning to Tool of North America and signing with Partizan in 2023. Russ has directed commercial work for Apple, Google, Nike, Gillette, Kaiser Permanente, Infiniti, General Electric, ESPN, and the Ad Council. His advertising has earned a Titanium Lion, Glass Lion, Gold PR Lion, Silver Branded Entertainment Lion, two Bronze Film Lions, five AICP Awards, and multiple Clios, plus an Emmy nomination for Best Commercial. Notable campaigns include SK-II's "Marriage Market" with Forsman + Bodenfors and the Ad Council's "Love Cam" via R/GA. His documentary short 'Zion' premiered at Sundance, was acquired by Netflix, earned an Oscar shortlist, and won two Emmys, the IDA Award, and the Grierson Award. He directed 'Malice at the Palace' for Netflix's Untold series, the three-part 'American Manhunt: The Boston Marathon Bombing,' and 'American Manhunt: O.J. Simpson.' His narrative feature 'Ayar' premiered at SXSW in 2021. A UCLA Film School graduate who concentrated in screenwriting, Russ brings documentary sensibility and cultural research to all his work, favoring emotional intimacy that builds to epic scale.
