Bio & background

Felt Soul Media is the Colorado-based documentary filmmaking partnership of Ben Knight and Travis Rummel, founded in 2005 after connecting in Telluride. They make character-driven, landscape-rich films at the intersection of adventure sports, conservation, and human resilience. Signature work includes DamNation for Patagonia, SXSW 2014 Audience Award winner on dam removal and free-flowing rivers, and The Last Honey Hunter, a National Geographic collaborative short shot in Nepal with Camp4 Collective and the dZi Foundation that earned Vimeo Staff Pick Best of the Month and 2019 Oscar-qualifying status. Learning to Drown, their The North Face profile of snowboarder Jess Kimura, was a Tribeca 2021 Official Selection and won Banff Best Film Snow Sports 2021 plus multiple IF3 and 5Point honors. Other branded documentaries include Life of Pie for Patagonia (Vimeo branded-film nominee), a YETI Presents slate (120 Days, A Thousand Casts, Grandpa Gordon, Kamchatka Steelhead Project, My Father’s Guitar), Sierra Nevada’s Doom, Visit Telluride’s Senior, and Immortal Estate. Represented in the U.S. by Bob Industries, they direct, shoot, and edit as a unit alongside an extensive Vimeo and festival catalog.
