Emile Rafael is a Prague-raised, London-based director whose cinematic work is rooted in his training as a cinematographer and his multidisciplinary background as a musician and visual artist. He has directed automotive campaigns for Jaguar, Rolls Royce, Audi, GMC, Mercedes-Benz, Hyundai, and Mullen RS, consistently delivering powerful, aspirational spots that establish mood within the opening frames. His technology portfolio includes Apple's iPhone 17 Pro "Make a Move" campaign (2025) and work for Xiaomi and Palo Alto Networks. Rafael has created fashion and luxury content for Converse x Isabel Marant, GQ x Gucci, and JW Anderson, alongside documentary profiles of architect Frank Gehry, chef Rene Redzepi, and writer Alan Moore for Nowness and I-D. His financial services work includes Coutts' 2021 "Reflecting" campaign targeting next-generation wealth creators. Rafael's music video for MØ won Danish Music Video of the Year, while Jamie N Commons' "Not Gonna Break Me" earned Gold for Best Cinematography at the Kinsale Shark Awards.
