Bio & background

Dumas Haddad is a London-based director, writer, and photographer whose work spans fashion films, music videos, and culturally resonant commercials. Raised in multicultural London and influenced by his father—a photographer and artist—Haddad developed a visual language drawn from international cinema, comics, and illustration. His 2022 short film *Flowers*, an afro-futuristic fairy tale commissioned by Panasonic and shot on the Lumix GH6 with Zeiss Superspeeds, won Gold at Berlin Commercial, earned a Vimeo Staff Pick, and was selected for the BFI London Film Festival and Tribeca X 2023. Named a Vimeo Breakout Creator (Best of the Year 2022) and a Sony Future Filmmaker Awards Finalist, Haddad's portfolio explores themes of Black masculinity, identity, and cultural heritage through performance-led narratives and supercharged color palettes. He has directed commercials for Samsung (Galaxy Buds with Wieden+Kennedy), WhatsApp (Naija Spirit campaign, Bronze People's Telly and People's Voice Webby), UPS x Livewear, Guerlain, and Footlocker x FIFA, and music videos for Ruff Sqwad, Anaïs, Priya Ragu, Ghetts, and MRCY. A frequent collaborator with cinematographer Olan Collardy and colorist Matthieu Tollet at The Mill, Haddad is developing his first feature—a sci-fi coming-of-age story—and a documentary on post-colonialism in Europe. He is working with Friend (UK) and Chelsea Pictures (U.S.).
