Dexter Navy is a London-born director and photographer whose work fuses street culture authenticity with luxury fashion aesthetics. Discovered at age fourteen via Tumblr by i-D Magazine, Navy rapidly ascended to Grammy and MTV VMA nominations for his 2015 music video A$AP Rocky's "L$D," establishing a creative partnership that has yielded five further collaborations with the artist. Navy has directed campaigns for Dior (Dior Tears 2023), Louis Vuitton x Supreme (Fall/Winter 2017, personally selected by Kim Jones), Burberry, RIMOWA (collaborating with Virgil Abloh), G-Star RAW, and Nike. His 2018 G-Star "Uniform for the Free" campaign, casting only real people via street outreach rather than professional models, exemplifies his documentary-inflected approach. Navy shoots predominantly on 35mm film, citing Mathieu Kassovitz's La Haine as a formative influence. He has photographed covers and editorials for i-D, Dazed, Vogue, and the Wall Street Journal, and held a solo exhibition ("36") at London's Hoxton Gallery in 2014. working with MJZ (US/UK) and Sterntag Film (Europe), Navy describes his aesthetic as "colourful, raw, psychedelic and unexpected."
