David Wilson is a London-based commercial director whose mixed-media live-action work draws on Illustration study at the University of Brighton and a self-taught animator’s storyboard-and-animatic discipline. Standout brand films include Nike’s Made Of / What Are Girls Made Of (Cannes Lions Gold Film Advertising, EUROBEST Gold, D&AD Impact and craft pencils, British Arrows and LIA metal), Nike Never Ask (Cannes Lions Gold Digital Craft / motion graphics), and B.E.N., a robot-caregiver short for Society of Saint-Vincent-de-Paul (D&AD Wood Pencil; Adweek Ad of the Day). Other credits include Spotify’s Thank You Listeners animation (Cresta Silver; Creative Circle and Kinsale metal), IKEA Bright Shiny Colours (British Arrows Silver), Facebook’s Good Ideas Deserve to be Found, DFS Thingspiration, Apple, Etsy, O2, Cadbury, LEGO, Guinness, Sony, Beagle Street, Rowse, and Race For Life. He first gained international profile in music video—Arcade Fire’s We Exist (Grammy-nominated; D&AD Yellow Pencil), Tame Impala, Arctic Monkeys and others—winning UK Music Video Awards Best Director in 2015. In April 2025 he joined Biscuit Filmworks for US and UK commercial representation; he continues with Le Pac in France.
